With the rapid development of R/C hobby technology, the diversity of its applications, and the steady increase in the number of enthusiasts, there was a need for a specialized center to serve this promising sector of amateurs and professionals and regulate its use in a way that suits Qatari culture. Therefore, the Qatar R/C Sports Center was established as the first and only center of its kind in the State of Qatar, dedicated exclusively to R/C sports enthusiasts and professionals, including R/C cars, boats, and airplanes.

The center provides a wide range of services to its members, including training courses, entertainment, educational and competitive events, and various periodic celebrations. The center has two main facilities: the administrative headquarters in the Duhail area, which handles registration, licensing, theoretical courses, and administrative transactions, and the airfield in the Umm Thnaitain area on the North Road, where members can practice their various hobbies.

Additionally, the center offers services to civil society entities such as universities, assisting with graduation projects for engineering colleges. It has also served as an advisory body for the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority in setting laws for UAS, resulting in the QCAR005/2017 regulations, the first in the world established according to the recommendations of the JARUS organization
